For many years, CIPRO operated as the companies registrar for South African businesses. In May 2011, in accordance with the Companies Act, CIPRO and the Office of Company and Intellectual Property Enforcement merged to form the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), thus rendering CIPRO obsolete for any future company registrations or the management of past interactions with CIPRO as an intellectual property entity.

The CIPRO website has been reformed into a news-based platform that introduces South African companies and services to our South African readership. We reiterate that we no longer perform the former CIPRO registrar functions, but are happy to discuss promoting your company on the CIPRO blog.
